Menjangan Island lies off the Northwestern shore of Bali. The island is protected, currents and waves are generally non-existent. It is part of Bali Barat National Park, a protected reserve area. Menjangan is great for all levels of divers or snorkelers. Thirty minutes by boat from Mimpi crossing point (Banyu Mandi). Good numbers and varieties of coral and fish live here, turtles and sharks.
Menjangan offers vertical walls down to 30-60 metres, which then slope outwards. The reef surface is rugged with caves and grottoes, crevasses and funnel like splits break up the wall. You must orient yourself as you descend: Underneath appears as a blue void because of the incredible visibility which often reach over 40m, and sea temperatures are quite warm at 28-31°C.
The popular dive point at Menjangan Island are The Eel Garden, notable for its dazzling white sand, the Eel Garden is a pleasant dive in itself and an excellent place to do a deco stop, the Pos II where you can enter a short cavern of the left and nice coral wall and sea fans on the right, and for the more experienced, a deep dive (40m) to the Anker Wreck is a good choice, this is a wooden shipwreck (Kapal Budak) at the northwest corner of Menjangan island.

Puri Jati Point
It is probably best for photographers and certainly should only be attempted by those with the patience to dig around for small and interesting creatures. It is a bit off the beaten track, 1 kilometer west of Seririt on the North coast of Bali and 13 km west of Lovina.
Puri Jati is really quite a big site. It is a black sand beach, likewise the site is mostly covered by a black sandy bottom (no reef at all) with occasional sparse sections of seaweeds, sea pens and debris that cover large area but it is a good place to see sea animals and unusual creatures, which are small and well camouflaged.
Sea Horses, Anglerfishes, Ornate Ghosepipefish, Crustaceans, Octopuses and many more are encounter at this site. Here you will always find something different. Visibility is varying up to 15 meters and worse when big waves laps the beach; when sand particles are mixed up into the water.

The USS Liberty Wreck was beached by the Americans after the Japanese torpedoed and nearly sunk her during World War II on January 11, 1942. In 1963 she met her fate when the giant Mt. Agung erupted pushing her about 30 metres off shore. The marine life on and around the wreck is fantastic. Generally there are no currents. This is a great dive site for experienced divers or beginners. Tulamben is also a great dive to get back into the swim of things if it has been a few months since your last dive. Visibility is generally 12-20 metres and water temperature is roughly warm 28 to 29 degrees C. The wreck stretches more than 100m on steeply sloping black sand. The top of the wreck is at a depth of 5m and the bottom at 29m during low tide. The hull is broken into large chunks with big holes, making it easy to explore the innards. Usually the first dive is a deep dive around this giant and the second explores the innards.
Beside the wreck, there are few point you can explore along the Tulamben beach. On the right if you facing the sea are Paradise reef, Droff off (wall), Alamanda, Batu Kelebit, Seraya (macro heaven), while on the left about 1km away or about 10 minutes by car, there is Kubu point. Rright off the beach, in 5-15 metres of water, there is a lovely reef with some beautiful Staghorn corals and schools of reef fish. This site is good for macro and also you can find and dive in another wreck beside the USS Liberty, the BOGA Wreck. This new wreck sunk about September 2012 with 150 tons weight and 85 meters length, located at the depth approximately 13 - 30 meters.

Padang Bai Point
Padang Bai bay is located south-west of the much larger Amuk Bay which is the center of tourism on the east coast of Bali. Blue Lagoon is one of four main sites in the area. The Blue Lagoon is the most sheltered of the four sites and the one with the least exposure to the strong currents in the Lombok Strait.
The actual Blue Lagoon is really only the starting point for a dive in the area, because if you head down the peninsular towards Tanjung Sari, keeping the reef to your right, there is a great deal to see.
Other 3 points you may explored are "Tanjung jepun (temple)", this shallow (5 to 9 meters), well protected from currents dive site is full of beautifully overgrown coral bommies. Many different soft and hard coral species can be found here. Cuttlefish, sting Rays dig in the sand for food, Flatheads, Nudibranchs, Flounders and Scorpionfish are common encounters here. Next, is ” Bias Tugel”, this dive site is located right in front of the beautiful white sand beach. The entire bay consists of a flat bottom which is greatly covered with soft coral and bommies with hard coral strewn in between. Last is the Ferry Channel, Just outside the green beacon which marks the east side of the narrow channel where the ferry to Lombok runs in and out. A great variety of Nudibranch, yellow bargibanti pygmy seahorse are encounters at this point, Turtles often happen seen in the shallower parts at the end of the dive.

Nusa Penida ( Crystal Bay, Manta Point)
This island, off the southeastern corner of Bali, is a 1-1½ hour boat ride from Sanur Beach. There are at least fourteen dive pont to be explored around the island (Crystal bay, Manta bay, Manta Point, Gamat bay, Toya Pakeh, SD point, PED, Sampalan, Buyuk, Tugu, Batu Nunggul, Mangrove/Sakenan, Blue Corner, Ceningan wall) and all of them are incredible.
Nusa Penida is not recommended for beginner divers because it is open to ocean currents. Visibility ranges from 10-20 metres. There are many drift diving spots, currents generally run between 3-4 knots. Therefore the direction of the dive depends on the current. Diving here is wonderful at all depths, but generally you find the huge plate corals and forests of Staghorn above 18 metres. The reefs around the island are loaded with mass varieties of aquatic life. Make sure you glance off into the blue yonder because chances are you will see a couple majestic mantas flying through the ocean and the famous great oceanic sunfish (Mola-Mola), but again you must be an alert diver. You will truly be amazed by the beauty of the underwater world in Nusa Penida. Diving here is spectacular, and a favorite spot. Definitely not to miss when you dive in Bali.

Duration 1 Hours Boat
This is the closest dive site for those pressed for time. Just a 10 minute ride off Sanur Beach. This is not Bali's best diving but if you look you will be rewarded. Moray Eels, Spanish Dancers, Crocodile fish and many other forms of aquatic life can be found here. Channel Point has to be one of the most commonly dived locations given that it is an ideal place for dive training. This Sanur dive site is situated in the channel and has coral reef running along the edge of the channel which slopes off into a large sandy seabed. This is a good dive location for novice divers and refresher course participants and for those who do not have much time or want to travel long way.
Another point around are Jeladi Wilis and Penjor reef. Jeladi Wilis is a gentle dive site that starts around 3m and slopes of to about 20m. The current here can on occasion be a little strong. This site has visibility ranging from 5 - 15m. Penjor Reef, only a few minutes from the Sanur shore by boat, though you would travel much further for a reef with this quality. There is an abundance of mature and diverse coral and marine life on this site. It is one of the dives sites that does not need good visibilty as the volume of macro life is amazing.
